"Who can resist those milk mustaches when feeding them formula?"
Harmony Wildlife appreciates each of our volunteers so much and would like to share how awesome they are with you! This month, we are pleased to introduce Lesli B.
Lesli moved to Nashville 18 years ago from Los Angeles, CA. When she is not practicing psychology in her private practice, she spends her time helping rehabilitate wild animals at Harmony Wildlife.
Why did you choose to volunteer in this field?
I have always had a passion for animals, both wild and domestic. The unspoken gratitude one receives from caring for an animal in need is inexplicable. Whether orphaned or injured, I also enjoy knowing I was able to give an animal a second chance to live their best life back out in the wild.
What do you enjoy about volunteering?
Since joining the volunteer team, I have had the opportunity to work Harmony Wildlife’s original founder, Carol Burgess. She has been an amazing mentor and has taught me so much. Plus, we get to share a ton of laughs together while tending to the animals. You can often find me saying that my two favorite things are animals, and people who love animals. I have never met an animal lover I did not like!
What is your favorite animal and why?
My favorite animal at the rescue are the squirrels, especially the babies. Who can resist those milk mustaches when feeding them formula?
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, long walks in nature, concerts, and spending time with friends and family.
What is next on your bucket list?
I would really like to learn more about primates. In addition to Harmony, I would love to volunteer at a primate sanctuary.
