Volunteer Spotlight:
Ashley L.
Harmony Wildlife loves Ashley!
Ashley L. is a mom, dog lover, doctor and a general coordinator of chaos. In fall of 2022, she and her family joined the volunteer team at Harmony.
Why did you choose to volunteer?
My husband and son found a baby squirrel on the way home from school. We have always been animal lovers and were impressed with Harmony Wildlife’s work and dedication.
What do you enjoy about volunteering?
The animals! I also love that I constantly learn new things.
What is your favorite animal and why?
Harmony Wildlife took in an orphaned baby kestrel. I’ve enjoyed watching her grow into a beautiful, graceful creature with an obvious intelligence and curiosity.
What is your favorite wildlife story?
My funniest encounter so far was with a group of juvenile squirrels. After cleaning their enclosure, they thanked me by peeing on me through the front of their enclosure!
What are your hobbies?
Reading, gardening, anything with dogs and spending time with my family.
What is next on your bucket list?
To make a bucket list! HaHaHa! Until then, I am hoping for some family trips and a trip to Paris to celebrate our anniversary.
What is one thing about you that most people don’t know?
I am afraid of lawn mowers and refuse to use them. However, I am more than happy to play with all other yard tools, power tools, and of course...blowtorches!
