Wanted: Social Media Manager
Champion Our Amazing Wildlife!
Do you have a passion for both social media and the adorable wild animals?
Harmony Wildlife is seeking a volunteer or intern to spearhead our social media marketing program. We need a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Manager to help us share our work with the world. Every day, we work with an amazing cast of characters - from fluffy baby owls to curious raccoons!
Collaboration is key: You'll work closely with our staff to brainstorm content ideas, gather captivating photos and videos of our animals, and ensure our messaging aligns with our overall goals.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
Developing a content calendar and platform strategy.
Researching/evaluating platforms (preferably free option for nonprofits).
Editing, curating, or creating compelling content: You'll develop engaging social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) that showcase our adorable animals, their stories, and the vital work we do. Think heartwarming photos, informative videos, and captivating captions.
Growing our online presence: You'll develop and implement social media strategies to increase our follower base, boost engagement, and raise awareness about our mission.
Staying on top of trends: You'll keep us in the loop on the latest social media trends and utilize them to reach new audiences and tell our story in innovative ways.
Community management: You'll respond to comments and messages on our social media platforms, fostering a positive and supportive online community around our organization.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience using or managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) for a non-profit or similar organization.
A strong understanding of social media best practices, including content creation, scheduling, and community management.
Excellent writing and storytelling skills - you can turn even the most complex information into engaging content.
A passion for wildlife conservation and a deep appreciation for the "aww" factor of our adorable animals!
Creativity, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus points for:
Experience with content creation tools like Canva and Google Workspace.
Knowledge of wildlife rehabilitation and conservation issues.
You have the tech equipment required (but if you don’t we can figure it out).
This is your chance to combine your social media expertise with your love for animals and make a real difference for wildlife rehabilitation. The time commitment is estimated at 2-5 hours per week and most work can be accomplished remotely.
